Slate is a natural stone formed over hundreds of millions of years. It originates from layers of mud that, over time, were subjected to intense geological forces. These layers were compacted and compressed, transforming into sedimentary mudstone. This process created distinct layers within the stone, known as the “bedding plain”, corresponding to the original mudstone layers.
